Still Point Architecture is dedicated to the notion of 'client-directed' design. We begin by asking what the client wants (and listening to what they say) not by telling them what they'll get. We recognize that clients have unique needs and specific aesthetic preferences. In each project the client's 'wish-list' is assessed and the opportunities and constraints presented by the site are carefully analyzed. Typically a project specific 'design manual' is produced and this becomes the guiding document for the project. Design evolves to create a careful marriage of all of these factors ensuring a good 'fit' - both between building and site as well as between owners and building.

The use of natural materials (recycled where possible) is central to the design of many of our homes. Exposed timberwork is often employed in our belief that the 'bones' of the building are part of its inherent beauty. Light is a constant theme and we believe that natural light playing into the interior is critical to a project's success.

With his background in construction, Drew is able to establish an open dialogue with the builder, both through detailed construction drawings and visits to the site. The smooth transition from one stage to the next - from concepts to working drawings and on through construction - is a characteristic of all of the firm's projects and reflects our commitment to our clients.
