Still Point Architecture had it's beginnings as an architectural
practice in 1997 when the principal, Drew Rose MAIBC, left the large
firm where he had worked for eleven years. Drawing on his many years
of experience as a contractor and builder on the British Columbia
coast, Drew began to focus on the design of waterfront and coastal
residences. To date the firm has been involved in projects ranging
in size from 600 square feet to over 4000 square feet and located
in various areas of the coast including Bliss Landing, Powell River,
Savary Island, Quadra Island, Nootka Sound, Halfmoon Bay, Vancouver
Island and Vancouver.
While the primary focus of the practice is residential vacation
and retirement projects, Drew has a background in the design and
development of multi-family, commercial, office, resort and educational
facilities as well as renovation projects of varying size.
Still Point Architecture has developed and maintains close ties
with a large number of experienced builders who specialize in remote,
coastal construction. With many exceptional sites accessible only
by water and not serviced with electricity it can be critical to
have a construction team who understand the special logistical problems
associated with these kinds of projects.
As a registered architect, Drew is able to provide his clients
with services beyond the scope permitted for house designers. These
services include administration of construction contracts, issuing
certificates during construction and coordinating payment schedules
between owners and contractors. These services have proved invaluable
to clients with busy schedules who often live far away from their
project site.
